So…AR Rahman did it yet again making us (me especially being a great MUSIC buff) proud. This time it’s BAFTA for Best Music for AR Rahman for the movie Slumdog Millionaire. This answers to those who used to ask again and again DOES AR RAHMAN DESERVE AN OSCAR NOMINATION. If you ask me that question, I would say that I really don’t have any idea on what basis does OSCAR judges decide. But I really do agree with Rahmans Oscar nomination. It was such a great hair raising composition with JAI HO being the best of the lot and if you had watched the movie you will be stunned and hooked with its background score. KUDOS to our own Rehman.

Now to my favorite, the release of BILLU BARBER. It is releasing this week. The movie is having a super hit music and this writer predicts that the movie will open with good business in small centers. Big cities will not see that good opening knowing it’s an IRFAN KHAN movie and should work only with good word of mouth. Its original version being such a big hit and its remake in TAMIL being a super dud, fingers crossed for its Hindi version. Can’t wait for that.

Now to the finale of this week’s blog with MY SAYING. ENJOY ONES LIFE TO THE FULLEST WITHOUT WORRYING AND COMPARING YOUR LIFE WITH OTHERS. BELIEVE THAT YOU ARE HAVING THE BEST BLESSINGS AND EVERTHING HAPPENING RIGHT NOW IS FOR GOOD AND IF NOT IT WILL BE DEFINITELY FOR GOOD IN THE FUTURE.

Happy Valentines Day to all and show your partner how much you love him/her on this special occasion. But my question is why to show the love only on this special day and why not always???!!!! But any ways it is nice to have VALENTINE’S DAY EVERY YEAR!!!

Slumdog Millionaire..

I am not a hardcore English Movie fanatic. I hardly watch those and that too thrilling movies. Dramas, romantic films are a no no for me. But this is different case, SLUMDOG MILLIONAIR. I have not heard about it until it gets nominated for the Golden globes. And then it gets that award. This is the time I became curious about the movie.

Finally I watched the movie. Although there were lots of critisism against the movie regarding the name and also questions DOES SLUMDOG DESERVE AN OSCAR NOMINATION??, I simply loved the movie. If you ask me why the movie was made in the slums of Mumbai, sorry I have no answer. And if the movie was made in slums of US or any other country, and if you ask me the same question, the answer will be the same, NO IDEA.

I loved the movie, it touched my heart and I totally agree with its OSCAR nomination. That does not mean that I watch all OSCAR nominated movie. I decide whether a film is brilliant or not by asking my heart. If it touches then its brilliant, if not its trashy. In this case it really does. Some scenes are still running in my mind.

Now to the movie, the script and direction is strong, the story is interesting and well told, and the actors deserve applause. The film takes you through many emotions, but above all, and what drew me in, is that this is a simple film. It’s basic, no additional luxury (except that Bollywood style closing) and it appears to be passionate. Made from the heart.

Standing ovation from me for the makers of this wonderful film.
